Our intentionally small enrollment of eight children, 3-5 years of age or fewer, creates an environment where every child is seen, encouraged, and celebrated each day. Rather than becoming one face in a crowded classroom, your child is known by name, personality, interests, learning style, and unique gifts.

"Our daughter attended Maple Grove Preschool for nearly 2 years* Discovering Barb was a true stroke of luck (thank you, random google search), as we had decided that the larger daycare center my daughter had previously attended for a brief period was not a good fit. It was clear, from our very first meeting with Barb and her husband Dave, that we had found a fantastic and dedicated teacher for our 3 year old. She consistently goes above and beyond, to stimulate each child’s creative side and natural gifts. It was so much fun hearing my daughter describe her school days, and seeing her form close friendships. Her confidence and social skills took off quickly. But most importantly, Mrs. Barb gave her the gift of wanting to learn- something only the best teachers can accomplish. On a practical note, her home is in a great neighborhood, always quiet and low on traffic, and close to trails and nature. Her husband Dave is also great with kids and helps with preparing healthy meals "

"Miss Barb is such a wonderful teacher and my friend Josephine (I am her nanny) loves playing at school with her friends! I have been working with Josephine since she was just a few months old, and during our time together her family has tried a few different school settings to help expand her social skills. I can say without a doubt that she has flourished the most in Miss Barb's care, and it has been so wonderful to watch her grow and see the things she is learning at school. Barb has such a lovely, gentle style of teaching, and it is always a pleasure to chat with her and hear about how the students have helped direct some of the learning they did that day. Josephine says, "I like that she makes up ideas and prints out projects that we can make. I play outside and I have fun at school! 🙂 "

" Maple Grove Preschool and Miss Barbara have been absolutely wonderful and I really can't express that enough. Finding her was the best thing for our family. My son has been with her for almost 3 years now and is off to Kindergarten this fall, and her program has really made him ready and he's so excited about it. Her activities she does with the kids is so wide ranged yet it keeps them so engaged. From letters, words, animals, bugs, numbers, songs, and weather, she really does it all! She is very patient and kind, and loves each child as if they were her own, so you know they are in wonderful hands. I can't wait to send my daughter to her when she is old enough! We keep every group at 8 children or fewer — always. This is the heart of what makes Maple Grove different. Small groups mean every child is truly known, heard, and supported each day.
We're open Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. We follow a consistent schedule year-round so children know exactly what to expect each day.
Parent Aware is Minnesota's quality rating system for early childhood programs. A Four-Star rating is the highest possible — it means our curriculum, staff qualifications, and family partnerships have all been independently verified.
Absolutely — it's a core part of every day. We're steps from nature trails, and children explore gardens, observe wildlife, and do seasonal science outdoors throughout the year.
Yes. We serve healthy homemade meals and nutritious snacks each day to support children's growth, energy, and overall well-being.
